Stitch
Payments infrastructure aimed at larger merchants, with an Express product for everyone else. Its case is orchestration: one integration across cards, the bank rail and pay-later, with routing and reconciliation built in.

Rates ex VAT, Express plan. Stitch's enterprise product is quote-only and none of its pricing is published, so everything here describes Express. Stitch is one of the few providers that charges no refund fee at all, though it still keeps the original processing fee like everyone else. Customer refunds take 3 to 12 working days.
What it accepts
Payment methods.
Strengths
- Genuine orchestration: cards, the bank rail and pay-later behind one integration, with routing between them.
- No refund fee, which is unusual. Only the retained processing fee applies.
- Standard payouts are R2.00, among the cheapest here, with a R10.00 instant option when you need it.
- Native BNPL at 5.7% rather than a third-party bolt-on.
Watch-outs
- The enterprise product is entirely quote-based. Only Express pricing is published.
- Stitch publishes no settlement timing, and customer refunds can take up to 12 working days.
- No monthly or setup fee is published either way, so confirm before assuming R0.
- Two decoys when researching: stitch.co is an unrelated US company with its own pricing page, and stitch.me is a separate consumer app.
For developers
Integration and API.
Stitch offers REST and GraphQL APIs with webhooks, plus a hosted checkout for teams that do not want to build one. The developer experience is strong, although the documentation assumes more payments knowledge than Paystack’s does.
The reason to choose it is orchestration. If you want cards, pay-by-bank and BNPL behind one integration with routing and unified reconciliation, that is the product, and it is the closest thing locally to what an enterprise merchant would assemble from several providers elsewhere. If you only need one rail, that capability is not worth paying a card rate of 2.95% for when Ozow’s bank rail is 1.5%.
Note that the published Express pricing is not what a large merchant will pay. Above R200,000 a month Stitch prices custom, and the enterprise product has no published rates at all, so the figures here describe the entry point rather than the destination.
Licence and status
Stitch publishes no licence status, PCI level or acquiring-sponsor detail on its own pages that we could verify. We have left this blank rather than infer it.

A R650,00 average basket, R150 000,00 a month, 3% refunded, 4 payout runs a month, incl 15% VAT. Quote-based providers are absent from this table because they publish no rate to compute, not because they were excluded. Card rails carry a chargeback provision of R120 per chargeback, which is an editorial assumption, not a sourced figure: no provider on this site publishes a chargeback penalty amount.
