POPIA, in plain language
We collect almost nothing.
No accounts, no tracking lists, no marketing database. Here is the little we process and why.

Who we are
This site is built and run by Lidema Studios, which is the responsible party for any personal information processed here, in the language of the Protection of Personal Information Act. The head of the studio acts as our information officer. For anything in this notice, write to hello@paymentserviceproviders.co.za.
What we collect
Only what you type into the contact and feature-request form: your name, your message, your email address if you choose to give it, and, on a fee correction, the provider, figure and source URL you cite. Every field is voluntary. Without an email address we simply cannot reply. We do not run accounts, and there is nothing to sign up for.
When you submit the form, our server also sees your IP address. It holds it briefly in memory to limit repeated submissions, and it appears in routine server logs. Neither is used to identify you, and neither goes into any database, because the site does not have one.
Why we collect it, and on what ground
Solely to answer your message or follow up on your request, which POPIA recognises as a legitimate interest. Nothing you send is added to a mailing list, and there is no marketing use without a separate, explicit opt-in from you. If we ever start a newsletter, it will be opt-in from the first message.
Where it goes
Your message is delivered by email to our mailbox at hello@paymentserviceproviders.co.za, with your address set as the reply-to so we can respond. Our mailboxes are hosted by Migadu in the European Union, where the GDPR applies: POPIA permits this because that law protects your information to a substantially similar standard. The site itself is also hosted in the European Union. No other party receives what you send.
Cookies and storage
The site sets no cookies at all, tracking or otherwise, and runs no analytics. The only thing it stores in your browser is your light or dark theme preference, in local storage; that value never leaves your device. If we ever add analytics it must be cookieless and privacy-respecting, and we will record that decision here.
Retention
We keep correspondence only as long as we need it to resolve your message or request, then it goes.
Your rights under POPIA
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you may object to any processing. Email hello@paymentserviceproviders.co.za and we will act on it. This site makes no automated decisions about anyone.

Security
The site serves everything over TLS, stores no personal information in any database, and limits who can read the mailbox. If personal information in our care is ever accessed unlawfully, we will notify the Information Regulator and the people affected, as section 22 of POPIA requires.
