Promotion of Access to Information Act
The PAIA manual.
Every South African private body must publish a manual describing the records it holds and how to ask for them. This is ours. It is short because we hold very little.

The private body
This manual is published for Lidema Studios, the studio that builds and runs paymentserviceproviders.co.za, as section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 requires of every private body. The head of the studio is its information officer and answers requests under both PAIA and POPIA. Contact: hello@paymentserviceproviders.co.za.
The official guide to PAIA
The Information Regulator publishes a guide, in every official language, on how to use PAIA. It is available from the Regulator at inforegulator.org.za and from its offices: Woodmead North Office Park, 54 Maxwell Drive, Woodmead, Johannesburg, 2191; enquiries@inforegulator.org.za; 010 023 5200.
Records available without a request
Everything published on this website, including the fee comparisons, the methodology and source register, this manual, the privacy notice and the terms of use. Read it freely; no PAIA request is needed for any of it.
Records we hold
Beyond the published site, the studio holds only ordinary operational records:
Correspondence: messages sent through the contact form or by email, kept only as long as needed to resolve them. Company records: the accounting, tax and statutory records any small business keeps, held per the retention periods those laws prescribe. Website records: the site's source code and routine server logs.
How to request a record
Email hello@paymentserviceproviders.co.za with the prescribed request form (Form 2, available from the Regulator's website), describing the record you want, the right you seek to protect if the record is not about you, and how you would like to receive it. The prescribed fees under the PAIA regulations apply. We respond within 30 days as the Act requires, and we may refuse only on the grounds the Act itself lists, with reasons.
Processing of personal information
For the purposes of the POPIA section of this manual: we process personal information only to answer correspondence. The data subjects are people who write to us; the categories of information are the name, email address and message they choose to send. It is shared with no one beyond our email provider, Migadu, which hosts our mailboxes in the European Union under the GDPR. Security measures: the site serves over TLS, stores no personal information in any database, and mailbox access is limited. The full detail is in the privacy notice.
Availability of this manual
On this page, from the studio by email at no charge, and from the Information Regulator. If a PAIA request is refused and you disagree, you may complain to the Regulator at PAIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.
